01  How this drop was set up

The run ran up to 20 rounds. It opened generously — a 48.1°-wide target with the needle sweeping at 97°/second (about 3.7s for a full lap) — and tightened all the way to a 10.3° sliver at 311°/second (1.2s a lap) by the final round. • Reset your eyes at round 6. That’s where this drop threw its widest target-to-target jump (171°). Glance to the new target the instant the previous lock resolves instead of tracking the needle across.
• Stop chasing the needle at round 9. That was this drop’s first pivot round — the needle was trapped between two bumpers and turned around at each one. Pick the bumper the target sits nearer to, wait for the turn, and lock on the way back out; chasing the bounce is how most runs ended here.
• Bank the easy early rounds. Your headline precision % is the average of every lock, so a clean 48.1°-wide round 1 is free score — don’t get sloppy while it’s generous.
• Survive first, perfect second. A dead-centre lock and a barely-inside lock both keep you alive. When the 10.3° endgame targets appear, prioritise staying in the run over chasing a perfect hit.
